She was the guitarist of The all-girl rock group, The Runaways, in the latter part of 1970s.Their rock-star sound and raucous lyrics made them a hit within the world of rock. The group did not make it in The United States, but gained immense popularity in the world. Ford started a heavy metal solo career following the band broke up in 1979. She began taking vocal lessons. Her first solo release was 'Dancing On The Edge'. Ford's albums were not very popular, and she stayed away for a few years. Her acclaimed album, "Lita", released in 1988 saw her come back with the umph. The hit single, 'Kiss Me Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" have been hugely popular. Unfortunately, her success was short-lived as she disappeared from the music industry for many years. In 1995, she released 'Black and a few years later, 'Wicked Wonderland", she re-emerged. The album she released in 2016, titled 'Time Capsule. Her name was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award by the Guitar Player Magazine.
