
Salma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimmyenez, September 2, 1966)[3][4][5]), is an American and Mexican actress. Her career began in Mexico by playing a lead role in the television drama Teresa (1989-1991) as and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) for which she received an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were just a few of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002), which she also co-produced was the first Mexican actress to be recognized for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6as well as earning her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to make films, while starring in action-oriented movies like Once Upon a Time in Mexico in subsequent years.
